Biography

Angelika Zolcsák was born in Hungary. She started the cello studies at the age of six. 

After she was admitted at Zoltán Kodály Specialized Secondary school of Musical Art in Debrecen, she had her Bachelor of Cello Art at the Musical Art at the University of Debrecen. She graduated Teaching Master Degree in Debrecen, Hungary, in 2012. where she worked in Kodály Phiharmonia Orchestra and in Simonffy Emil School of Music. She won first, second prizes on the violoncello of region competition in 1997, 1998 and in 2000.

In the meantime, in 2011, she started her specialization to LUCA School of Arts Campus Lemmensinstituut in Leuven, Belgium. In 2012 she moved to Belgium  where she obtained the degree of Master in Cello Performing (2014) and Master in Chamber Music (2015).

She is the cello teacher at British School of Brussels and she performs solo and chamber music concerts. She founded a Duo (Les Roses Duo) performing in international concerts (Germany, Italy, Belgium); she plays in various orchestras (Kamerorkest voor Vlanderen, Symphonia ASSAI, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra), and she is member of European Philharmonia, La Chapelle Sauvage, Nuove Musiche Orchestra, Classical Concert Chamber Orchestra, having international tours in Europe. 

Her repertoire spreads from the baroque through the contemporary composers. Following their European performances, she has performed with Goran Bregović and Hans Zimmer, increasing her repertoire with wide-ranging music.

She likes hiking and learn a new language.
